Posted June 23rd, 2009 by YesMinisterI'm working on the electronics for the CEB 2 and the water pump, can anyone help with sourcing of the components?
Here's the Compressed Air Water Pump project page with the electronics schematic thanks to mimarob: http://openfarmtech.org/index.php?title=Compressed_Air_Water_Pump
Here's the CEB 2 automation page, which I'll be updating with more information on the design specifications soon: http://openfarmtech.org/index.php?title=CEB_automation
I need to get reviews of the designs and links to sources. Thanks for any help!

This is my discussion with Ralf from Austria about the solenoid timer:
Excited about lifetrac -- Who else is building one?
Posted June 19th, 2009 by yeltrowI've just seen the lifetrac page and I find the ideas very exciting. I'd love to sneak materials off to the workshop for a while and drive one of these puppies out. I'm particularly interested in suggestions for engine sources. I'm an electrical engineer/circuit designer, so perhaps there is some way I can help. I can also do 3D cad (solidworks). Anyhow -- I'm hoping to turn this thread into a vibrant forum of builder knowledge.

Have you thought of manual press? Like this one maybe.

I think they did a good job and this is well within my welding/fabrication skills. But I don't think they have open source plans. They seem to be a different project than you people. But I wouldn't be surprised if both groups were burning man types.
Are you people 21st century utopianists

I am interested in doing things myself for tax reasons. Making your own bricks from your own dirt and only having to add some lime or concrete as stabilizer. The government doesn't (yet) tax you on the imputed value of bricks you made yourself, or food you grew yourself.
If your idea catches on the goverment will take notice though, and figure out a new way to tax you.
Copyright help for new dome design
Posted June 6th, 2009 by sylviaWe just found out about your project and very happy to hear of your good work.
We have a advanced cheap and strong double layer tensegrity design for a dome. We would like to secure the rights so that it can be used by anyone to produce a structure that people can use it for greenhouses or underground uses. Steve Mann shared that there is an open source copyright available so that we could give people a license to use it and protect it from being patented and kept from ordinary people using it.

Posted June 6th, 2009 by sylviaI am a mother of two sons. I am 59. I have a limited fixed income. We would like to volunteer and collaborate with the factorefarm.
I am seeking a group of eco-engineers to help test, document for licensing, build, market and use my son's advanced dome design. He wants to make the design available for others to use as it is cost effective and extremely functional but mostly he wants to build and use above ground for a greenhouse and underground for growing mushrooms.
Brumby Pump plans anyone?
Posted June 5th, 2009 by GuyFound this video some time ago made by the Health Ranger
from Naturalnews.com and after speaking with the fellows at Factore Farm we see
having one of these pumps as a top priority.
The problem is they cost $600 and that’s out of this budget so my
question is do any of you own one that you can send to us so we can understand
the design and make our own or have any of you seen plans of what the internal
workings are like?
